About us
We are Ania and Lawrence Morgan.
We are the founders of Morgan's English and Cheeky Monkeys. Lawrence is a native Brit who doesn't speak Polish. Ania is from Krakow and lived in London for most of her adult life. We have been working with children for nearly 15 years, first in the UK and now in Poland. We are artists and parents of two bilingual children.
With the experience gained in multicultural London, working with Polish children, and the challenges of our bilingual family, we created our own method of teaching English — practical, effective, and highly engaging. Unlike traditional methods, ours is mainly based on:
- Communication
- Understanding English in its natural sound and pace, rather than just filling in grammar “gaps.”
We aim to make language learning as attractive as possible. To achieve this, we use our creativity and artistic talents. Together with our students, we:
- Paint
- Draw
- Sculpt
- Make music
- Create various sensory art materials
- Conduct experiments (STEM)
And ALL, OF COURSE, IN ENGLISH!
With us, learning English is an unforgettable adventure! Join us!

My name is Ania, and together with Lawrence, we founded Cheeky Monkeys, where we pursue our educational and artistic passions, but above all, we raise children in the spirit of bilingualism. I believe that our preschool not only teaches fluent English but is also a place where each child can discover and develop their talents in a safe and family-like atmosphere. I gained most of my experience working with children in London, where I moved after graduating from the Academy of Fine Arts. For over 10 years, I conducted art classes for both young children and teenagers while continuing my own painting practice and exhibiting my works. I returned to Krakow in 2012, and it felt completely natural to continue my journey by working with children. This time, art classes, cooking, and other forms of creative expression serve as tools for effective English language learning. The success of the Cheeky Monkeys language school, which Lawrence and I opened, inspired us to establish the bilingual Cheeky Monkeys Kindergarten.
Privately, I am a mother to Frankie and Russell, and two dogs and a cat. I love animals, reading, painting, nature, and wandering around the area with my four-legged friends.
Lawrence Morgan
- Ba Hons Fine Art from Southampton University
- English Native Speaker
- CELTA qualified
- CALLAN trained
- Qualified Respite carer for children with disabilities
- 7 yrs experience of teaching English to children and adults in Poland.
I am from London and had previously worked as an artist until I moved to Krakow and began working as an English teacher, teaching adults, children and business English for several years until I co-founded Cheeky Monkeys and Morgan’s English with my wife Ania.
I am a keen amateur chef, a collector of bizzare and unusual facts and have a love of hiking and cycling.
This combined with my arts background I believe, is a perfect recipe for interesting and unusual lessons. Conversation ,activities and actual usage of the vocabulary should always take precedence over book work I believe, when it comes to learning a language.
I hope the results that we have achieved over the years reflect this fact and will continue to do so.
Izabella
Hello! My name is Izabella, I am 25 years old and I am from Romania. After I graduated and got my Bachelor’s degree in English Language and Literature, I decided to travel and see what the world offers. Therefore, I moved to Lithuania and I worked with children for a year. This experience pushed me to look for other similar opportunities. That is why I moved to Poland and now I am working at the Cheeky Monkeys. Why I like working with children, you may ask. Well, the answer is pretty easy. I like to look at the world with a child’s eyes: everything is much more colourful, happy and uncomplicated. I find it easy to connect with children, and being with them allows me to show all my patience, warmth, compassion, love and kindness in its truest form. I spend my free time leaving my comfort bubble and exploring new places, meeting new people, doing arts and crafts and trying out new sports.
